Spring cleaning time has arrived, and I am excited to get my home back to a shinier, cleaner-smelling, and happier place to be.

Well, as clean smelling as it can be with three dogs living in our house.

Before you gather your mops and brooms and prepare to battle those winter dust bunnies, check out these quick and easy house cleaning secrets that can help you clean your house faster, and save money too.

1. How To Unshrink Clothes That Shrunk in the Dryer

So a shrunken shirt just came out of the dryer. A brand new shirt that you just bought your son. And you see visions of cash going down the drain.

Before you panic, try this money-saving tip on how to save clothes that have been shrunk in the laundry!

This little laundry trick will hopefully save the clothes as well as save your money because you won't have to go shopping to buy a new shirt!

2. Save Money By Using Bread To Clean Surface Stains

Apparently, you can live and clean surfaces and walls without magic erasers. Who knew.

Just for the record, those things are sacred to me. So while I may try this clever way to remove marks and on walls, I probably won't be giving up my magic erasers anytime soon.

But this simple cleaning hack can save you money. All you need to clean stains is a slice of bread.

Who knew bread could save you some bread? (I just had to do that.)

Grab a slice of white bread and roll it into a ball, and just like that, you have a simple homemade stain remover for walls and surfaces.

The trick is to use the bread to gently dab at a surface stain, as opposed to scrubbing frantically at it.

You can also use sliced bread to soak up kitchen counter spills in a flash.

3. Use Vinegar to Remove Gunk From Shower Door Tracks

Forget the chemical bathroom cleaners. Centsable Momma has an awesome cleaning tip for getting rid of nasty gunk that gets stuck on shower door tracks.

Pour distilled white vinegar on some paper towels. Next, lay the paper towels on the door tracks, and let sit for about 30 minutes.

Voila! All that nasty gunk should come off easily using a toothbrush or cotton swab and water.

4. How to Quickly Clean Walls and Baseboards

I am the first to admit I never gave much thought to cleaning walls. I might get a Mr. Clean Eraser (I am telling you, I have those things stashed everywhere) and spot clean marks and scuffs, but never really gave the entire walls a good cleaning.

This tutorial on how to easily clean your walls made me realize just how much difference clean walls can make in your home.

Who knows, after you are done cleaning the walls using this tip, you may decide painting those walls can wait after all.

5. How to Clean Grout (Without Scrubbing All Day!)

Grout is my nemesis. We have tile floors throughout the house, which look pretty, but the grout causes me endless grief. I have tried many ways to clean the grout between tiles, and usually, I am disappointed with the results.

Luckily I came across the best homemade grout cleaner, ever, and it has been awesome.

And it is much cheaper to make your own grout at home versus buying a grout-cleaner at the store.

You just need a little baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and liquid dish soap to make this homemade grout cleaner. I definitely recommend trying this one.
