As summer and swimming pool season approaches, it is more important than ever that we all know how to perform CPR, as a story in the news today reminds us. This past Sunday, a nine year old boy saved his two year old sister from drowning by performing CPR on her.
The nine year old boy was with his family visiting grandparents, when his two year old sister fell into the pool. When her mom found her and pulled her out, she was unconscious and not breathing. Then Tristan took over.
"I just went running outside and I did CPR on her. I knew what I was doing." nine year old Tristan later told interviewers.
Tristan says he learned CPR from television. Amazing wonderful story that could have so easily been tragic.
So. Do you know CPR? Do your kids?
Woman's Day has a 4 step basic CPR Guide that is one place to get started learning this life-saving procedure, and of course taking a course and becoming certified in CPR is best of all.
