Apparently optimistic people live more than seven years longer, on the average than pessimistic type people. They also have lower rates of diabetes, cancer, stroke and other illnesses, according to Yale University scientists.

Another suggestion- when you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, such as, "I'll never get this done!" ask yourself, "what's the flip side?"--maybe turn the thought around to "I'm going to make a lot of progress" in this work!"
Lastly, take 10 deep breaths. The surge of oxygen will send nutrient-rich blood to your brain, firing up production of serotonin, the "happy" hormone!
